Kid Country *UPDATED 2012*

The original review of Andrew Brown Community Park East/Kid Country can be found here.  Thanks to some special guys for a guest review of the updated Kid Country (the rest of the park is the same).

Mommy says:  Kid Country in Coppell (260 E Parkway Blvd) was redesigned in 2012 (here) & is now an even more fun place to spend the day!  There area a ton of activities...  slides, swings, tire swings, the huge rope climbing structure, sand pits, picnic tables, plenty of parenting seating, lots of ladders and climbing structures, monkey bars, rope bridges, jumping bridges, rock walls/rock poles/rock climbing structure.  The park is split into sections - the main section is for older kids, tot town is for 2-5, and even a section for babies  There is also a music section that even has a stage.  The restroom is nearby, as are water fountains.

The Ark @ First Baptist Coppell

Guest starring The Princess & Little Miss (half the pics are from a camera phone, sorry for the poor quality.)

 We're here!!!
We have to put our shoes over here before we play.
Next time we can bring a snack, okay mommy?
This is for the little kids.
The Princess & Little Miss are playing in there.

Look at these foam things!  We can build something!
THIS is for the big kids!!
This is how I get to the bridge.
See me?  I like the big bridge.
Look at that slide!  But, it's not very fast, so it's okay.
This is the other way to get to the bridge.
You better watch out for those obstacles up there.
Punching bags!  They knocked me over.
I like all the obstacles in here.

If you climb this, you get to the big bridge!
Next time, maybe we'll play out here.  Okay?

Mommy says: The Ark located in First Baptist Coppell (590 S Denton Tap Rd in Coppell) is a great indoor play area for kids of all ages.  Open hours vary, depending on the time of year (there is less open play time during the school year, when the church has a preschool program), but entrance is free.  You can also host a birthday party at The Ark, for a small fee.  The summer, hours are 9am-5pm Mon-Thurs & 9am-12pm Fri.  I believe the hours during the school year are 9am-5pm Mon, 9am-10:30am & 2pm-5pm Tues & Thurs, 2pm-5pm Wed, & 9am-12pm on Fri.  Please check the calendar on their website to verify hours before heading out.  Besides the play structures, we spotted board games a plenty, and there are definitely plenty of tables available to stop & have lunch or a snack.  There is a restroom right outside The Ark, and there is also a small outdoor playground that is available to play on.

Andrew Brown Jr Community Park East/Kid Country

Please see the UPDATED review of Kid Country here.

Whoa!
Come on mommy!
I want to do that, and that, and that, and...
Do you see those big tires?
I like bouncy bridges.
The Princess asked me to find the missing steering wheel, but I couldn't.
It's. Hard. To. Hang. Here. ...Mommmmmmmy!
Do you see all those swings?!
This tire swing is fun.
Maybe next time we can have a snack there.
Look at all this sand.
I think this is a good place to have a party.
Can we go THERE?
I like to play baseball.
Let's chase birds.
Look at that picnic spot.
Do you see ALL THOSE DUCKS?!
Mommy says: Andrew Brown Jr Community Park East/Kid Country in Coppell (260 E Parkway Blvd) has a covered pavilion, a pond full of ducks & turtles, with a fishing pier, lots of picnic tables, a nice trail around the pond, a basketball court, 4 softball fields, & a great wooden play structure. The play structure has only 1 way in/out, a large sandbox, several benches, tons of swings, and some picnic tables. While we were there, the restrooms were locked up & the water fountain wasn't working.
The Aquatic & Recreation Center is also located here. I can't locate information on the water park, so please check with the city to find out hours of operation & fees.
