Johnson Road Park

Another guest review, thanks to Big H & Little H!

Johnson Road Park in Keller (640 Johnson Rd) is Big H & Little H's favorite park!  They love all the "towers" to climb up & the slides.  It can be difficult to keep up with more than 1 kid (or I'm guessing even just 1 sometimes) because there is so much equipment.  There is a toddler play area also [not pictured] with a smaller playscape, swings, & a digging area with a "digger".  There is a huge field, basketball courts, 2 covered pavilions, & a nice clean restroom right next to the play area.  The park is well maintained & always clean.  It's one of the most popular parks though, so it can get quite crowded.  The park shares a parking lot with the Keller library (which has a great storytime) & the Keller Senior Activity Center.

Kid Country *UPDATED 2012*

The original review of Andrew Brown Community Park East/Kid Country can be found here.  Thanks to some special guys for a guest review of the updated Kid Country (the rest of the park is the same).

Mommy says:  Kid Country in Coppell (260 E Parkway Blvd) was redesigned in 2012 (here) & is now an even more fun place to spend the day!  There area a ton of activities...  slides, swings, tire swings, the huge rope climbing structure, sand pits, picnic tables, plenty of parenting seating, lots of ladders and climbing structures, monkey bars, rope bridges, jumping bridges, rock walls/rock poles/rock climbing structure.  The park is split into sections - the main section is for older kids, tot town is for 2-5, and even a section for babies  There is also a music section that even has a stage.  The restroom is nearby, as are water fountains.

J.R. Newman Park

Guest review  - The Bobbsey Twins' Big Adventure at a Splash Park.  ;)
(If you don't know who the Bobbsey Twins are, I suppose I am aging myself.)

 Splash Park!

 (Aren't these two adorable?!)
 A "barn" to play in.

 Horses to ride.
A place for the smaller kids.
 Basketball.
 Great place for a picnic.
Plenty of room to kick a ball, fly a kite, or play a game of tag.

J.R. Newman Park in Frisco (8211 Twin Falls Dr) is a great place to cool off in the summer, or climb around any other time of the year.  The playground, splash park, basketball court, & pavilion are all enclosed in a fenced area.  There are large fields to play in just outside the fenced area.  There is a working water fountain, but no restroom.
